The prospect of getting married is a beautiful and exciting process. For all cultures marriage symbolises a lifelong commitment to each other. Pre-marital counselling offers couples an opportunity to openly discuss their hopes and expectations of a future together.
It is hoped that a space can be provided that is neutral where some of the concerns and questions that the couple might have could be highlighted.
It is helpful to learn to understand each other’s thinking and objectively look inwards as to how compatible their values might be.

Islamic Pre-Marital counselling
Islamic pre-marital counselling discusses all the same questions any couple may consider before marriage with the addition of certain guidelines from an Islamic lens.
For example, some discussion may reflect the following:
What does the Quran and Sunnah say about a happy marriage?
What are the Islamic guidelines for a husband or a wife?
How important is adherence to Islamic practice to everyone?
What are their expectations around having children?
Do they have plans to have their parents living with them now or in the future?
What are their expectations around Mahr or marriage gift?
Are both families in agreement with the Islamic marriage arrangements?
Ease counselling services provides couples with a list of questions that covers some of these issues and it is helpful for young couples to discuss before marriage.
