Telehealth is an excellent and convenient way to participate in counselling.
People can choose between a phone conversation or an online video counselling session.
Telehealth options allow the client to be able to talk to a counsellor from the comfort of their own home, office or even outside venues like parks or while walking your pet.
The experience of phone counselling adds another layer of privacy for the client. This can be very beneficial for the client they can often feel more at ease to discuss their difficult and private concerns.
During Covid 19 many of us suddenly had to transition to an online environment and we quickly adapted to communicating in that space. Counselling also adapted and now I enjoy online counselling as much as face to face. I have found people can relax and feel safe in their own home or comfortable environment that they chose to chat with a counsellor.
There are many benefits like not having to travel to a specific clinic room, find parking or even arrange babysitters for small children.
In our busy lives we often always push our own wellbeing needs down to the bottom of the pile of important things that must be done. Telehealth offers people a less hassle-free option of prioritising their own mental wellbeing. One can spend some quality time with a counsellor address their concerns and then switch off the phone or screen.
Take a moment then assess those “things” that need to be done with, just as it is hoped, something a little bit lighter, something that you have gained that is supportive of you just being you.
